Benoit Veigneau · Hands-on CTO · In Bordeaux and anywhere remotely

Tech that
turns true.

A tech team that delivers. Costs you understand. AI that genuinely helps. A CTO since 2012, I bring this to leaders of SMEs, software companies and startups, without waiting until you have hired a full-time CTO.

2012CTO since, across five companies

Three ways to work together.

An outside view in a few weeks, a CTO for the long run, or a hand to get AI out of the demo stage. Shaped by your situation, not by a catalogue.

Tech diagnostic & due diligence

In a few weeks, a clear view of your technology, your team and what they cost, with a 90-day action plan you can actually deliver.

Who it is for: Leaders who need to decide with full knowledge: before a fundraise, a key hire or a migration, or because IT has become a black box. Funds and acquirers who want to know what they are buying before an investment or an acquisition.

Fractional CTO

A senior CTO at the pace you need: leading the team, the roadmap and the budget, hiring, making the calls, and reporting to the CEO.

Who it is for: Software companies and startups of 10 to 100 people that need technology leadership without the cost of a full-time role. SMEs and mid-sized companies between two CIOs, through interim management firms.

Applied AI & products

Choosing the use cases worth pursuing, scoping them, and delivering them to your customers or your teams. I have put language models into production at a software company, and I use AI agents every day.

Who it is for: Leaders and product teams who have seen the demos, and now want a product, or a measurable gain, that runs. And runs true.

In the field.

Situations I have lived through as a CTO, and what they can bring you. Anonymised, with figures given as orders of magnitude.

Budget · group · several entities

Taking back control of an IT budget: reading what you pay for, making the calls, bringing recurring costs down without breaking what works.

Outcome in this case: savings of more than 30% on monthly recurring costs. For you, the diagnosis will show what is possible.

A three-step method.

The same one, whether for a few weeks of diagnosis or a long-term mandate.

  1. Understand

I listen to the teams, I read the code and the numbers. Within a few weeks, you have a clear diagnosis and priorities.

  2. Structure

Roles, priorities, rituals and budget: an organisation the team can sustain without me.

  3. Make it run

What was decided is delivered, measured, then taken over by the team. I stay as long as is useful, no longer.

Portrait of Benoit Veigneau

A hands-on CTO since 2012.

Hands-on, because I still write code myself, I read the numbers line by line, and I go and see teams where they work, in Bordeaux or on the other side of the world.

I am also used to talking to finance people: finance directors, investment funds and acquirers. I have led several technical audits ahead of an acquisition or an equity investment, to say what a technology is really worth, its risks and what it will cost to scale.

CTO at five companies: e-commerce, connected devices, an AI software company, a large group. I have built, reorganised and led teams from a handful of people to more than 90, in France and abroad.

I built my first PC at 11 and have been writing code since I was 12. Today I also use AI agents as an accelerator, with the same standards of specs, tests and reviews.

Background.

Five technology leadership roles. Each time, a team to build or put back on its feet, a budget to hold, a product to keep running.
